Comparatively low level, this undulating 19 mile course is eminently runnable. But don't let that fool you... it's still a challenging route.
The start/finish has easy access from the M6 and the route is all comparatively low level so is ideal for a February race.
Starting from Milnthorpe Cricket Pavilion this delightful route will take you to places that even many locals don't get to see. You will pass through Dalham Deer Park, where you would be very unlucky not to see some of the resident fallow deer and then onwards to the impressive Leighton Hall. Through Leighton Moss Nature Reserve where you could spot a hunting peregrine falcon before passing through Silverdale and making your way to a fantastic single track along the stunning coastline. An ascent of Arnside Knott follows offering outstanding views of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland Fells, but if this doesn't sound magical enough you then have an opportunity to climb the Fairy Steps where you will have a wish granted if you reach the top without touching the sides.
Entry includes a well stocked aid station with a variety of options, a bespoke medal and a hot meal at the end for all finishers. There will be a professional photographer in attendance and their pictures will be shared after the event.
Registration will open at 7.30, walkers start at 8.30am and ALL runners an hour later at 9.30am. You have until 5.30pm to finish so that you're in before it gets dark.
